The Civil War Preservation Trust's website is intended to supply our viewer with information about battlefield preservation and the CWPT's mission. In the course of providing these online services, information may be exchanged between the CWPT, servers, online users and their browsers. This privacy policy states the Civil War Preservation Trust's policy with regard to the personal information you provide.

In general, when you visit our website and access information, you remain anonymous. We do not require you to register or provide personal information to us to view our site. There are occasions when we will ask for additional information. We do this to better understand and respond to your needs, and provide you with services that may be valuable to you. To help achieve its mission, personally identifiable information is occasionally made available to other non-profit organizations and occasionally to for-profit organizations unless you request otherwise. While name and address information may be shared, the CWPT does NOT exchange phone numbers or email addresses. Whether or not you choose to share your information will have no impact on your interaction with the CWPT.

Information security

We take our users' privacy very seriously. When users submit personal data to the Civil War Preservation Trust, we take steps to ensure the information remains secure both during transmission and while stored offline.
